How to Create a Vision Board

Vision Board

You’re amazing!

And you have everything needed in you to create a life that is meaningful to you. But what if you don’t know exactly what that is? That’s where a vision board comes in.

Why? Having a clear vision for your life is like turning on a spotlight that lets your unique talents and purpose shine brightly. This clarity empowers you to make confident decisions, prioritize what aligns to your goals, and let go of what doesn't serve you. With a clear vision for your life (or even an area of it, such as your work or for finding love), you're not just living day to day; you're intentionally creating a life that reflects who you are, what you want, and how you can help others! Read below on how to create one, step by step.

  1. set Your Intentions

• Begin by reflecting on what you want to achieve in various areas (or one is fine!) of your life: career, relationships, health, personal growth, and fun.

• Write down your goals and dreams in each category. Be specific—clarity will help guide your vision board.

2. Gather materials

• Board: Use a poster board, corkboard, or canvas. Choose a size that you can easily keep visible.

• Magazines/Printed Images: Collect images that resonate with your goals or find specific images online that reflect what you want to manifest.

• Scissors, Glue, or Pins: For attaching your items to the board.

• Optional: Markers, stickers, quotes, or other decorative items to personalize it.

• If you prefer to create your vision board virtually, Canva may be a great option!

3. Collect Inspiring Images & Words

• Find images that represent your goals and the feelings you want to bring into your life. Cut them out or print them.

• Look for quotes, words, or affirmations that inspire you and align with your intentions.

• Aim for visuals that spark positive emotions and motivate you to take action.

4. Arrange & Attach Items to your Board

• Place the images and words on your board in a way that feels natural. You can organize by categories, such as health or career, or go for a more spontaneous, collage-style approach.

• Attach each item securely with glue or pins. Leave space around the images for new goals you might add over time.

5. Add Personal Touches (optional)

• Personalize your board with doodles, your own handwriting, or items that hold special meaning (like ticket stubs or small trinkets).

• You can also add your own photos, like a picture of yourself or loved ones, to remind you of who you’re doing this for.

6. Place Your Board Somewhere Visible

• Display your vision board in a spot where you’ll see it daily—by your desk, on a bedroom wall, or near a mirror.

• The goal is to keep your dreams and aspirations top-of-mind, helping you stay motivated and focused.

7. Revisit & Update Regularly

 • Take time each month or quarter to reflect on your vision board. Are you making progress? Do you need to adjust any goals?

• Feel free to add new images or replace outdated ones. Your board should evolve as you grow and your goals change. Enjoy the process, and let your vision board be a reminder of what you’re working toward!
